JE # 59 – Ive Been Broken, But I'm Not Weak!

Abril 13, 2008

By Song Wilson

So many times in life we get down and discouraged and it seems that we have no where to turn and no one to turn to. They say when it rains it pours and before you know it all the bills are due, your car is in repossession status, your kids find any and every reason to be defiant, and your relationship is going down the drain. We can’t forget that J.O.B “Journey of the Broke” that you go to everyday just to listen to your boss tell you that you need to do more while they pay you less. By this time, I know that I have hit some nerves and probably have gotten a few Amen’s!

The key is not to focus on the negatives, but focus on the positives. Some people have a problem with finding out the positives in their lives, but in order to get through what is negatively affecting your life you must get to the root. I have a saying,” In order to appreciate the fruit you have to appreciate the root “. Yes, the root is dirty and sometimes if you’re lucky your root gets planted with poop, but realizing this is the fertilization process of producing the best fruit. Once you have realized that greater is He who is in you than anything that is in the world, you have made the first step to a positive outlook. We have to begin to speak things into existence that aren’t as if they really are.

The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy and what better way to destroy you in the physical than by starting with your mental. So often when we get down and we allow ourselves to stay down not realizing that we don’t have to waddle in our misery. Mentally, we have convinced ourselves that we are weak and we can not be over comers when in reality that’s when our natural instincts to defend ourselves should come out. Take a stand, be in control of your life, and fight for your right to live in peace. Pray that if you have to endure trials let them be with no sorrows. What I mean by this is sometimes we have to go through but praying to God that whatever comes our way we endure with a victorious spirit. Wake up daily and say to yourself I am more than a conqueror and I will not fail. Tell yourself that you have overcome all obstacles and you already have the victory!

When it seems that life is coming at you in every direction, literally stop in the middle of whatever is going on and regroup by declaring that you are walking in perfect peace. Sometimes the enemy doesn’t have to steal our joy, but we give it to him. Take back your joy, reclaim your victory, and let the enemy know that you have been broken but you are strong enough to know that you are not defeated. Take control of that very thing that was given to you by God and that is your life. You may have been broken but you are not weak!

JE # 26 – When Was Your Best Worship Prayformance This Year?

Disyembre 31, 2007

http://inspiringentries.blogspot.com/

The question was asked by our Music Ministry Head during our devotion yesterday(during our 2nd service). Our fellow members answered some specific worship service where they were blessed by the songs, the way worship leader leads, the line-up, etc.. One answered that he was able to worship even his intrument is not heard through the big, loud speakers.

I did not speak. My answer is very similar to others. The best worship i had this year happened last December 9. Bro. Jun Godornes led us in worship. The songs were nice. The voices were excellent! The intruments were complete. Grand Piano, Kulintang, Flute, Rondalla.. name it..we had it.. the sounds made were great.. It was an excellent worship! I sensed that our worship rose above the Heaven as a Sweet Aroma before our Creator.

Did i get the correct answer? hehe.. I doubt my answer then. There could be a best answer for that question. Hmmm…

What if the answer is NOW? hehe..

As music ministers, we should have a new perspective with this question. The Best Worship is not in the past. It is the next worship prayformance 😉 Today’s worship, I’m giving my best to God as if this is my last worship to Him. In every worship, one must be in his/her “performance level”. Life is short. It is possible that next Sunday wont come. Or the next Midweek Service. Or the next morning. 😉

Today, I’m giving my best worship. Tomorrow, i will give my “best of the best” worship!

Happy New Year everyone!

Journal Entries # 24 – Painful Discipline and Peaceful Harvest

Disyembre 24, 2007

Journal Entries of Bro. Bren

Last Friday, i went to my old home in Sta. Cruz, Manila. I found my old journal there. I will share my devotion dated November 18, 2005

Reading : Isaiah 28:23-29

Consider the farmer: He not only plows the ground, he keeps on breaking and harrowing the soil. When the surface is leveled, he would plant the seeds. Wait. Harvest. The same with the believers of Jesus. Hardships, Sufferings, they make us mature and strong. God will not give us things that we can’t bear. The farmer waits for the harvest so the believers of Jesus. We can be assured that we have a Wonderful in counsel and magnificent in Wisdom God. The things or circumstances we have right now are ways of God for us to be more dependent on Him. Serving God maybe hard. But one day, He will say, “Well done. My good and faithful servant!”

Hebrews 12:11 (New Living Translation)

11 No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.

Journal Entry # 20 – 5 Reasons Why God Uses Problems

Disyembre 13, 2007

http://inspiringentries.blogspot.com

The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you,
depending on how you respond to them.
Unfortunately, most people fail to see
how God wants to use problems for good in their lives.
They react foolishly and resent their problems,
rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring.
Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:

1. God uses problems to DIRECT you
Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving.
Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change..
Is God trying to get your attention?
“Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways.”
Proverbs 20:30

2. God uses problems to INSPECT you
People are like tea bags
if you want to know what’s inside them,
just drop them into hot ever water!
Has God tested your faith with a problem?
What do problems reveal about you?
“When you have many kinds of troubles,
you should be full of joy,
because you know that these troubles test your faith,
and this will give you patience.”
James 1:2-3

3. God uses problems to CORRECT you
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure.
It’s likely that as a child,
your parents told you not to touch a hot stove.
But you probably learned by being burned.
Sometimes we only learn the value of something… health,
money, a relationship … by losing it.
“It was the best thing that could have happened to me,
for it taught me to pay attention to your laws.”
Psalm 119:71-72

4. God uses problems to PROTECT you
A problem can be a blessing in disguise
if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious.
Last year a friend was fired
for refusing to do something unethical that his boss
had asked him to do.
His unemployment was a problem,
but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later
when management’s actions were eventually discovered.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”
Genesis 50:20

5. God uses problems to PERFECT you
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders.
God is far more interested in your character than your comfort.
Your relationship with God and your character
are the only two things you’re going to take with you into eternity.
“We can rejoice when we run into problems…
they help us learn to be patient.
And patience develops strength of character in us,
and helps us trust God more each time we use it,
until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady.”
Romans 5:3-4

Here’s the point:
God is at work in your life
even when you do not recognize it or understand it.
But it’s much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.
“Success can be measured
not only in achievements,
but in lessons learned,
lives touched
and moments shared along the way”

LIFE IS AN ECHO.
What you send out, you get back.
What you give, you receive.
WHEN YOU BRING OUT THE BEST IN OTHERS,
YOU BRING OUT THE BEST IN YOURSELF.

Journal Entry # 17 – Death (reflections from Kapuso Mo Jesica Soho)

Disyembre 9, 2007

Journal Entry # 17

Saturday night, I was watching Kapuso Mo Jesica Soho..

I was struck by the words of a woman preparing for her coming death. Death is certain and it could happen anytime. She is not afraid. She’s assured of eternal life after the death of her physical body. Her assurance: JESUS CHRIST whom she accepted as Savior and Lord of her life. What a faith! As i watched that episode, i reflected on my life. Scenes flashed my mind. Memories from childhood were recollected. Past sins and bad habits were reminding me. But, that was the past. I am now a new person. The old is gone. Past sins(even present and future sins) were cleansed by the blood of Christ. No amount of good works can match the work that Christ did.

The choir that this woman taught came to visit her and sang a touching song.. Here are the few lines:

Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way

May the footprints that we leave

Lead them to believe

And the lives we live inspire them to obey
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful

Someday, I will come to this point where i'll have to say goodbye to the
people that i ministered, the people who have been part of my life.
may my life be an inspiration to other people. A life that would lead
others in the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

May we strive day by day to please God in every aspect of our lives.
When we will see Him face to face, He will say, "well done, good and faithful servant!"

More to share, but i got no time to write everything.:(

God bless you

Journal Entry #14 – You can Pray

Disyembre 6, 2007

http://inspiringentries.blogspot.com

Pastor Roman Guevarra

(from Christianster.com)
James 5:16-18

16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. 17Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

Habit ko na sa aking paggising na magpatugtog ng worship song before i do anything else. Kadalasan ngayon, i play my brother’s song “UULAN NG PAGPAPALA” from the album Kay Hesus. I like the message of the song. It says:

“UULAN NG PAGPAPALA”

Kung kami ay luluhod

at sa inyo ay sasamba

Kami ngayon ay diringgin

At ang bayang ito’y inyong pagagalingin

Uulan ng Pagpapala

Uulan ng Pagpapala

Uulan ng Pagpapala

Sa bayang ito O Diyos

O Diyos

Me kanyakanya tayong ritwal sa paggising. Ngunit i find it so much better to start the day with songs that reminds us and makes us feel that everything is gonna be alright in Christ. To be positive and optimistic. We can sing, declare, and pray, that blessings will come our way.

At the end of my blog, i always ask people to send in their prayer requests. Why? Because i want to pray for people. I know i can be a blessing to others by simply praying for their needs. I know that i am a child of God. That my relationship with him is real. That i am special.

And so are you.

I have confidence to pray for myself and even for others because the verse that we have for today reminds us that Elijah, the prophet, the miracle worker, the man who stopped and released rain, is a man just like us.

Sure, sometimes we feel that we are not worthy. Perhaps because we have sinned or disobeyed God. Pero sino ba naman sa atin ang hindi nagkakasala? Nagkakamali? Pag bumagsak, bangon. RISE UP!

If you have sinned, seek God’s forgiveness. Get your act together and live a life that pleases him. If your a new Christian, learn more about your relationship with God. Kung matagal kana sa pananampalataya, e, magpatuloy tayong lahat sa paglilingkod at pag grow sa ating faith.

Start your day right by believing “UULAN NG PAGPAPALA” sa buhay mo. Saan ka man nanduon. If someone asks you for prayers, don’t hesitate. Pray for them.

You can be righteous. You can be worthy. You can be a blessing.

YOU CAN PRAY!
